Plot:
A young girl with a fascination for the occult must free her brother from the grip of an evil spirit by confronting a dark force that has been gaining power for centuries in director Nicolai Arcel's frightful action adventure film.
The time was the 19th Century. A powerful necromancer has been expelled from a secret lodge that was constructed to combat the forces of evil. Flash forward to the present day, where young Lulu and her family are moving into their new country home. Hopelessly bored with her new rural surroundings, Lulu becomes immersed in the mysterious world of the occult. But now Lulu has opened doors that are best left closed, and her brother has become possessed by the spirit of an original lodge member.
Should Lulu fail in confronting the dark forces that surround her family, a series of tragic events will soon begin to unfold.
But defeating the forces of evil won't be the only challenge faced by this brave young soul, because along the way Lulu will search for a buried treasure and wage a valiant fight to save the souls of the ones she loves most.

Description
The mutilated body of a six year old girl is found in a water hole. The girl is identified as the missing daughter of Claudia. However, only two peices of evidence could be used to identify her; a bracelet with her name on it near the crime scene, and the fact that her right leg was three inches longer than her left. All other methods of identification were removed from her body. Five years later Claudia, now addicted to tranquilizers, receives a phone call from someone claiming to be her daughter, asking for her mother to come find her before 'they' kill her...

Los Sin Nombre is a truly terrific Spanish horror thriller capable of scaring the viewer unlike the dozen of American late-90s horror boom flicks that have flooded box offices for way too long. Spanish director Jaume Balaguero uses old fashioned lightning tricks as well as modern editing to a good extent. Colors and mood are borrowed from David Fincher and the plot from Roman Polanski's masterpiece - Rosemary's Baby. Taking bits from here and there, Balaguero combines the elements to create a fine piece of cinema, definitely worthy of all it's Hollywood counterparts and more. Now, let's just hope that Balaguero gets invited to do his first Hollywood flick like his colleague Alejandro Amenabar (Tesis, The Others) as there's never enough fresh ideas in the boring US horror industry.

Eastwood starts off his directing career on a very high note. Play Misty for Me is definitely a classic, and not a whole lot of other movies can transfer between genres as well as this classic can. Play Misty for Me starts off as a simple movie, basically becoming a romance movie, quickly turning into a thriller and almost a horror movie. The movie is a mix of genres, and they mix well too. This is definitely a high mark in Eastwood's career, and a change from his usual action movie.

Innovative, tense and unnerving tale that is also very stylish, with inspired visuals, imaginative use of sound and spectacular editing. It is also a little confusing upon first viewing but it is clear by the end that everything did make sense. An intelligent work that deals with gender/work issues, psychological make up and it's consequences plus the question of dealing with cult 'victims'.

This is about a passionate loving couple, being brother and sister. It is definitely incestous and rivals of different kinds are killed. It's absurd, it's a little Bunuel sometimes and mostly funny. Probably this is supposed to be a modern Grimm tale, but including sex. There are no real human beings here, like in Grimm. Like Hansel and Gretl, the brother and sister are alone in the world, with no parents to lean on. They leave Holland and come to a strange dreamlike Spain, where they meet another brother and sister, evil and crazy. There certainly are scenes here you will remember, but most of all you will remember the dark humour, which makes you laugh at totally wrong places.
