Ore Wa, Kimi No Tame Ni Koso Shini Ni Iku (For Those We Love or For You, I Go to My Death) (2007) - Taku Shinjo

In the autumn of 1944 the Japanese military had collapsed into an overwhelmingly disadvantageous battle-situation in the Pacific War. Under the proposal of Vice Admiral Takijiro Onishi (Masato Ibu), Kamikaze units were formed. These units, comprised of fighter aircraft loaded with 250 kilogram bombs, would conduct suicidal ramming attacks on enemy ships. In 1945, orders to the Kagoshima prefecture rapidly converted the force to a Kamikaze army. It was time for Second Lieutenants Bando (Yosuke Kubozuka), Tabata (Michitaka Tsutsui), and Nakanishi (Satoshi Tokushige) to take part in the Battle. The unit members each solemnly spent the last night of their lives. At dawn, this group of 439 young men would depart for their never-to-return mission.
